| Various - Cooperation Volume 1 | |||
| Today many artists are guilty of being in the
music business strictly for the dollar. Sure, they may like music, but like Herby
Luv Bug stated, they love money. That is why it's refreshing to see the formation of the
Cooperation label. True to its name, the close-knit band of musicians who set up the
label have decided to check their egos as the door and concentrate on putting out quality
tracks. As noble as those intentions are, this set of exclusive tunes by the bigggest names on the West London circuit doesn't live up to the lineup. The first couple of songs fail to inspire, particularly the Phil Asher/Mark De Clive Lowe collaboratoin "Blackcurrent," which seems to just plod along. Thankfully, salvation comes in the form of Misa Negra's "Keep Your Head to the Sky." The samba-filled groove kicks Cooperation into a second gear that gains momentum with typically solid work from Catalyst, Seiji, and Nu Era.
