The secret weapon in Philadelphia International's success, the multi talented Wansel began as a member of the group Yellow Sunshine. He wrote, produced, arranged, and played keys on various albums before recording his own Life On Mars in 1976. The title tune is a spacey dance classic, "Prophet Named KG" is a breakbeat cut. "The Sweetest Pain" is his other classic. He stayed active on the Philly soul circuit through the 1980s, producing for the likes of Patti LaBelle and Jean Carne.
