Do What U Feel

A rising star in the dance community, Stacy Kidd is ensuring that Chicago house is alive and well in the 21st century.  Born and raised in the Windy City, Kidd spent nearly a decade as a  DJ before stepping into the studio.  Inspired by his cousin, Paul Johnson, Kidd is best known for tweaking disco samples into dancefloor burners, such as "Something For the Kids" and "Jammin'."  He's also shown a knack for delivering novelty-type records, with the Andy Griffith-sampling "TV Land" or the legendary "Junkyard Funk," which pilfered the theme from Sanford and Son, being the best of the lot.  Lately, Kidd has shown an interest in vocals; "I Wanted U," featuring Matthew Yates' glorious voice, was a critic's pick in late 2001.   An extremely prolific artist, Kidd keeps a demanding release schedule for labels such as After Midnight, Yellorange and Riviera.
