Stay the Night

Don't sleep on one of the more popular radio artists of the 1980s. Before becoming one of the decade's biggest stars, Billy Ocean had paid his dues by struggling as a songwriter and performer in the 70s, notching two minor hits: "Love on Delivery" and "Love Really Hurts Without You."  At the dawn of the 80s, Ocean dropped the dancefloor classic "Nights (Feel Like Getting Down)."  His mainstream acceptance kicked off with "Caribbean Queen" and lasted through the end of the decade with "Suddenly," "Love Zone" and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car."  I assume he retired to his native Trinidad to enjoy the fruits of his success.
