British singer Junior Giscombe burst onto the American scene via "Mama Used to Say," a horn heavy, cautionary tale in the classic mold.  Tee Scott helped ensure its success with his mix.  Other notable material from him is "Too Late" and "Oh Louise." Bob Carter (Heatwave, Central Line) shows up in the credits of a lot of his work, adding strength to the claim that he was perhaps the premier British black music producer before the arrival of Soul II Soul.

Junior's Deepest Grooves

Mama Used to Say (Mercury, 1981)

Too Late (Mercury, 1982)

Acquired Taste (Mercury, 1986)

Best Of Junior (Mercury, 1995)
Surprising that he would get a compilation dedicated to him but anything you'd ever want to hear from him is here.
