Winner of the Best Newcomer award by Blues & Soul magazine, Hil St. Soul is a soul singer whose career is on the rise. Born Hilary Mwelwa in Zambia, St. Soul was a college student before venturing into the music business. Her demo version of Aretha Franklin's "Until You Come Back to Me" attracted the attention of Dome Records, one of the U.K.'s best soul labels. With writing and production assistance from Victor Redwood-Sawyer, St. Soul released Soul Organic to critical acclaim in 2000. In addition to her vocal talents, St. Soul is a prolific writer; her compositions have been recorded by Maysa Leak and Incognito.
