These guys made their living backing up glam rocker Gary Glitter, but they began recording on their own in the early 70s. In a total contrast to their established image, they recorded the funky "Makes You Blind" in 1976, which was their only record to hit the black charts, at number 91. The band's refusal or inability to make anything in a similar vein enhanced the song's stature as a lucky accident. But it lives on as a cult disco-funk item, with people asking tongue-in-cheek what the band was referring to that causes the blindness.
