The guy responsible for an album that has induced many marijuana smoking sessions, DJ Frane is deeply influenced by the funk.   His Fantastic Boatride is a hip hop version of Parliament's Motor Booty Affair, and a minor masterpiece whose legend continues to grow.  Unfortunately, info on the elusive Frane is hard to come by -- he's probably too busy waiting on the herb man to worry about publicity.

A remarkable record.  The storyline revolves around the adventures of a starfish who ventures out into the deep to combat his own mundane existence.  A movie without the visuals, lyrical snippets provide a reference for the confused as each track sums up the emotions of our conductor.  Throughout, the funk keeps on flowing, with lots of embellishments that are discovered as you take another hit.  He's been incognito since this was released but I for one need some more of that Frane Funk!
