King Errison (sometimes spelled Errisson) is a percussionist with decades of experience with top-flight artists like the Four Tops, Donald Byrd, Cannonball Adderley and Neil Diamond (!). Given that disco placed a premium on percussion, it comes as a surprise to no one that his albums were conga-fests with plenty of breakdowns. Tom Moulton mixed "Manhattan Love Song," a b-side that far eclipsed the popularity of the intended hit, "LA Bound." Breakbeat hounds give him props for "Have A Nice Day," a perfect balance of funk and disco. He's still working the odd recording session, adding to a legacy that is surpassed only by perhaps Candido.
