Dyin' To Be Dancin'

"Dying to Be Dancing" is their claim to fame.  I wish I had more information on them.  According to the album, the music was performed, arranged and produced by Crown Heights Affair.  Vocals by Gail Smith or Heidi Dudley.   "Dying" is a garage classic, though, one of the most underappreciated tracks to come from Prelude.

Empress' Deepest Groove

Dying to Be Dancing (Prelude, 1982)
Given the lack of output from Crown Heights Affair during this period, it appears that William Anderson and Ray Reid put their energies into the Empress album. There are definitely quality cuts here beyond the classic "Dying To Be Dancing."   Also check for "Give In To Love" and "Gonna Get Ya What You Want," the latter of which has Kenton Nix helping out on the arrangement.
