Chantal Curtis is responsible for one of better examples of French disco, "Get Another Love." Starting with an atypically slow intro, the song soon explodes with energy, as a funk-fuelled bassline makes its presence felt. It is a classic piece of work whose status has risen in recent years. Curtis' career was helped by her association with Pierre Jaubert. He produced her record, and enlisted the help of his main act, the Lafayette Afro Rock Band as musicians for her sole LP. In fact, "Get Another Love" was written by Lafayette's drummer, Ernest Donable. One interesting piece of information about Curtis is that she apparently recorded for West End under the pseudonym Michele. Information about Michele is difficult to trace, but a look at the credits for the Magic Love LP finds Jaubert as a major contributor to the project. Curtis died in 1986.
