Evans is one of the unsung heroines of nu soul. The California-born singer first recorded with rapper Dred Scott, appearing on his Breakin' Combs album. She got her own deal in 1997 and Scott produced her self-titled release. With impressive, jazzy production, the record should have done well, but two singles failed to chart any higher than #50. Little has been heard from her since. Soul fans eagerly await her return.
